Why are Democrats suddenly against unfair college admission policies?

We know for a fact that for decades Harvard has been discriminating against large numbers of Asian and white Americans yet Democrats have been all for it.

Democrats have consistently supported punishing innocent white and Asian kids for the sins of white people who died over 100 years ago.

Interestingly the decedents of white men who risked their lives and fought to end slavery are being discriminated against so that Blacks who have no slave blood can more easily get into college.

Democrats think this is fine.

Yet now when we find that some middle level rich people paid to get a few kids into college people are getting all upset.

Don't get me wrong I'm glad these scoundrels were caught and I think they should be punished but in a land were thousands of people are discriminated against in college admissions solely because of their race I think we're getting upset about the wrong thing.

We all know that the ultra rich have been able to buy their kids into the prestigious colleges either by policies that say that if your dad went to Harvard odds are we'll let you in to or by making a huge grant to the college. That folks who are too poor to build a building are using the same technique is not that horrifying.

But what is horrifying is that the children of rich successful Blacks, like the Obamas, will be given preference over the white children of Ukrainians who fled the Soviet Union and who grew up in poverty.

If rich Hollywood stars tilting the college admission system to their favor by greasing the palms of some dishonest folk is horrible why isn't denying admission to kids because they're white or asian an even bigger scandal?

Is bribery worse than out and out racism?

The amazing thing though is that Democrat support for racist college admission policies shows that they're racists who hate Blacks.

Thomas Sowell, a Black genius, has pointed out that if you admit a kid to a school he's not really qualified for it will likely hurt him since his odds of failing will be higher and failing out of one school and having to finish your degree at a less prestigious school is a huge negative for someone to start their life with.

But Democrats don't care that Black kids admitted to colleges they're not quite up to hurts the kids which makes Democrats racists.

Of course since Blacks are as smart as whites and Asians there are Blacks that are perfectly qualified for Harvard. But they will have the same level of grades and test scores that white and asian applicants do so that no tilting of the scales is necessary to get them in.

But if Blacks with grades and test scores that show they'd be a success at say UC Berkley are admitted to a school, like say Harvard, for which their grades/test scores aren't good enough they're likely to fail just as a white student with lower grades and test scores who was admitted to Harvard because his dad is rich would tend to fail.

There is one form of affirmative action that could work and would me moral; take into account the kids background.

An inner city kid, no matter what their race, who gets a certain score on the SAT despite having gone to the failing Democrat run inner city schools is likely to be more competent than a white kid who went to high quality suburban schools.  If a college took that into account irrespective of race, and provided remedial courses for those students so they could catch up, it would address inequality without putting minorities into schools they're not qualified for.
